Renewable energy financial advisor Voltiq, headquartered in The Netherlands, and financial advisor Ágora, based in Bogotá, Colombia, have entered into a strategic alliance for Latin America. The exclusive alliance, which will work under the name “Voltiq-Ágora”, will offer renewable energy financial advisory and investment banking services in the M&A and equity and debt raising space in Latin America. Ágora among others recently advised in the sale of Electricaribe, one of Colombia’s leading energy utilities. Voltiq’s track record in Latam includes numerous transactions since 2012, like more recently the sale-purchase of the 50 MW Cerro Grande wind farm in Uruguay, and the currently ongoing sale of the 115 MW Chido solar project, under construction in Mexico. Ágora is led by investment bankers Rafael Rivas (ex Rothschild) and Alfredo Uribe, and its team is based in Bogotá. Voltiq-Ágora already has several running mandates among which the sale of the 55 MW Rio Suarez small hydropower cascade project in Colombia, and the sale of the La Victoria solar project in Panamá .
